This project is being implemented for the General Irrigation Corporation and includes the construction of an irrigation scheme linked to the Wadi Ashran Dam, near the city of Abha in the Asir region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study area is located at an elevation of 2,400 meters.
The watershed area of Ashran Dam is approximately 40 square kilometers, and the average rainfall at the dam site and agricultural terraces ranges between 250 and 300 mm.
The project accommodates 1,000 cubic meters per day of water from Ashran Dam, and an additional 3,000 cubic meters per day from other sources.
The project consists of:
A pumping station building, a generator building, a public site, and fences.
A 200 mm diameter, 850 meter long PVC pipe discharge line.
A ground tank 26.2 meters long, 23.7 meters wide, and with variable depth.
The irrigation network consists of two parts (northern and southern), with branch lines branching off to farm areas. The total irrigation network length is 5,560 meters.
